As a photographer in AZ, October is the start of our "busy season." It's finally cool enough to do pictures outside without your face melting off, it's the start of "wedding season" here in the valley, and everyone also wants to get their family portraits done for the upcoming holidays!
When my friend contacted me about doing a "family session" with her cat, I totally jumped on it. Sebastian (the cat) is 13 and, of course, she wanted some pictures done of him for his "Cat Mitzvah" and some family shots for her holiday cards.
He wasn't too thrilled about having the camera stuck in his face, but he was a good sport and we ultimately got some great shots of him and his mommy.
I actually went to scope out this location earlier in the day, and was just looking for a nice spot with some Sahuaros and Cholla's. My friend is heading back to the east coast, so we wanted something "Arizona-y" for her shoot. Luckily, the spot was also close enough to the Phoenix sign to get a few shots with it in the background.
Right as we were wrapping up, "Golden Hour" (which truly only lasts about 25 minutes), fell upon us, so we tucked Sebastian in, and snuck in some gorgeous portraits. I think this might be the most beautiful light I've ever shot in, to date. Arizona always amazes me with her sunsets.
Basically, I was squealing over how perfect the light was the whole rest of the session, and immediately had to get the pictures on to my computer to see what we captured. I'm so excited about this session!
Aviva, I hope you love your pictures as much as I do, and I can't wait to deliver your gallery! OMG!
