Hi.

Desert Bridal Shoot

Desert Bridal Shoot

January is my slowest month of the year; the holiday-picture madness is over and everyone has ordered and delivered their Christmas cards or their holiday photo gifts.  January is a time when everyone is broke, or waking up to the realization that they overdid the spending again, and no one really wants to book a photoshoot.

This is about the time I started really planning on doing a bridal shoot. I'd had it on the backburner of my mind for months, but with fall pictures, and then the Christmas-craziness, I couldn't plan a stylized shoot, let alone execute one.

So, I began the actual planning and putting together this shoot. I found my lovely model, Amanda, on Model Mayhem, made a bouquet, flower crown and picked up a cake. Amanda was so sweet, and was a total professional! She brought not one, but three wedding dresses, did her hair and make up and even volunteered her husband for some shots!

I had a great time putting this together with her, and by the end I had about 1,000 shots. Yikes! I've always had a really quick turn-around time, but with so many pictures it was a bit overwhelming. In addition to that, I had three other shoots that week, plus my "A Little Glamour" program picked back up in February. It's basically been a marathon since, but I'm finally getting some of my favorites out and downloaded.

love the shape of this dress!

For my first attempt at a stylized shoot, I'm pretty happy. I learned a lot, and will definitely be putting together another session at some point this year! I want to give a shout out to my friend Brittany who also came out to assist, and made my job a million times easier!
