Pretty in Plaid
I was totally unsure of how to start this blog; should I rave about these handmade, matching plaid, mommy-daughter outfits, or the fact that I know this beautiful momma from back when we cheered together (at a tiny little school in Michigan) and now we're both down here in sunny Arizona?
Let's start with the plaid! Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm obsessed with plaids (Christmas plaid anything is my jam!), and when I saw mom and daughter in matching dress and skirt, I did an internal "whooot whooot!" Chelsie actually made the matching skirt and dress! So talented!
Actually, when I saw this little family all together, I was doing a figurative happy dance; I love when families take the time to really plan their color palate. I totally geek out on different textures, textiles, (insert swooning emoji here) and these colors prove that while neutrals are subdued, they are far from boring. I love the modern, but classic look and with these knit sweaters, the wool plaid, and range of colors within the same palate, these would make for a beautiful canvas to put in any room!
But, beyond these awesome outfits was the sweetest family. I'm pretty sure there were no less than 15 brother-sister hugs during our session, which were just so heartwarming. I'm pretty sure when I was that age, I was pounding on my little brothers more than I was hugging them, lol.
Anyway, between lots of hugs, and multiple rounds of ring around the rosy, I got some cute posed "movie star" shots of sister and some pretty adorable pictures of brother running from the "tickle monster" I was being. I definitely had fun, and I'm pretty sure the kids did too. Little Miss was a bit sad when our session was over, and didn't want me to go (so stinking cute!).
Chelsie, thank you to you and your husband for using me for your family pictures. I absolutely love these, and hope you do too! Merry Christmas!
